The Adventure Folder Wood (AFW) reveals its strengths right in the name: a folding knife with wood grip, made for adventurers. The materials have been chosen for maximum reliability, and the design is truly distinctive. The blade is made of high-carbon AUS-8 steel, which is hard but easy to sharpen, and the spearpoint shape gives it extra strength. A practical stud on the spine makes the knife easy to open and allows the thumb to apply greater force when cutting. The satin finish harmonizes well with the matt walnut handle, which not only looks great but has an ergonomic design with an excellent grip thanks to well-placed recesses for the fingers. With a weight of just over 200 g, this knife sits well in one’s hand. A leather holster is also supplied for storing and transporting the AFW in proper style, and both carry the classic Walther banner, the mark of fine quality.

The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. Ever since, the sought-after Red Dot award has been the revered international seal of outstanding design quality. In order to appraise the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the award breaks down into three disciplines: the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. Each competition is organised once every year.
